Both surgeries can protect your pet from unwanted pregnancies, cancers, infections and those undesirable behaviours that usually begin when they go into heat.

What is the difference between spaying and neutering?

The difference between both procedures is the gender of the pet. Both procedures prevent pets from reproducing. Neutering is performed on male pets. During the surgery, their testicles are removed. We perform spays on female pets and remove their ovaries and uterus.

When should I spay or neuter my pet?

Most pets go into heat at 6-months-old, this is when they should have the surgery. To prevent unwanted pregnancies you should spay or neuter them before their first heat cycle.

Can my older pet be spayed or neutered?

Absolutely! The surgery can be performed on older pets. Before we perform the surgery we test your pet to see if they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia.
